Grepolis – Community Management

Grepolis is a free browser-based online game that initially launched in 2009, and is continuing operations to this day.

My role within the team was handling the entire NA region for the game.

Overview

I joined the Grepolis team as the lead community manager for the NA region after the game had already been long established for over 5 years.

My primary contributions to the team were maintaining the excellent community that was already in place, and helping it grow even further.

Over the years that I worked on Grepolis I had some key contributions:

  • NA region playstore rating rise from 3.4—>4.2
  • Helped develop 5+ new events both forum based and in-game
  • Increased average posting rate on forums from 8/day—->14/day
  • Lowered average support response times from 12 hours—>8 hours

Outside of those accomplishments I had a number of high level responsibilities and day to day responsibilities that I took care of

High level responsibilities

  • Manage NA region and ensure player satisfaction
  • Hire and train mod staff to assist with support tickets
  • Monthly reports on regions health, with a focus on player retention and engagement
  • Develop unique events both in-game and forum based that delight and excite the player base

Day to day responsibilities

  • Respond to support tickets
  • Check in with support staff and ensure alignment for the day
  • Interact with community through forums
  • Manage ongoing events
  • Create announcements, forum posts, etc as required
